Timothy Garton Ash on Europe with Yascha Mounk
A wide ranging and enlightening conversation.
This was a great conversation where Ash shares his 10,000 foot analysis of Europe and it's challenges. They start from the North East (UK Elections) all the way down to the South East Europe, finishing with Orban's defeat in Hungary.
Bits that made me hit the 15 second rewind button:
- Mounk's characterisation of European leaders as provincial (they speak bad or no English was one criticism) with some push back from Ash.
- Ash's easy to understand explanation of Magyars campaign strategy, and why it was so successful. Seems like a model that can and should be replicated elsewhere.
